Register_XH facilitates to restrict access to certain CMSimple pages to registered users. Therefore it has a simple user and group management as well as a login form, with the optional possibility for visitors to register per email. It is used by some other plugins to add user management (e.g. Chat_XH and Forum_XH).
It requires a UTF-8 encoded CMSimple_XH installation. It is released under GPLv3.
Register was developed in 2007 by Carsten Heinelt. In 2010 he gave permission to Gert Ebersbach to adapt it to CMSimple_XH and to further improve it. The plugin was then distributed as Register_mod_XH. In 2012 Gert Ebersbach discontinued the developement, and gave me the permission to maintain and distribute the plugin. Many thanks to Carsten Heinelt and Gert Ebersbach for their work and the permission to further maintain the plugin!
Since 1.4pl1 and 1.5beta3 the password hashing algorithm has changed, so your users old passwords won't work anymore.
Sorry for this inconvenience, but the old hashing algorithm was too weak, and had to be changed. After the update you should change the passwords of your users in the user administration and inform them individually about the new password, or you should delete all users and ask them to register again. If that's not possible, see RegisterPasswordMigrator.
If you have already installed version 1.4, you can download and install the patch. This won't overwrite any data, config, language or css files.
Also available is the beta version of Register_XH 1.5 with an improved user administration.
The Register Password Migrator is a tool that should help with the migration to a new version of Register_XH where the password hashing algorithm has changed. See README.txt in the download for usage instructions.
